The Civil Guard of Castellón has reported the discovery of the body of a minor who disappeared last Thursday at Pla de la Torre beach in Almassora, near the mouth of the Mijares river.

The Civil Guard of Castellón reported this Sunday the discovery of a body about 200 meters from the mouth of the Mijares river and approximately 300 meters from the coastline where a minor disappeared last Thursday. The body belongs to the young man who sank while swimming at Pla de la Torre beach in Almassora. The corpse was found around 4:20 PM.
The territorial team of the Civil Guard's Judicial Police traveled to the area to identify the body, which could correspond to that of the missing person, according to the same sources. The body was discovered by Civil Guard divers.
The search operation remained active since the disappearance, covering sea, air, and land, with the participation of Citizen Security patrols, the Provincial Maritime Service, specialists from the Special Group for Underwater Activities (GEAS), and the Civil Guard Air Unit.
The young man sank in the waters of Almassora beach on Thursday afternoon while swimming. Witnesses alerted the authorities, and for the past four days, the Civil Guard, Salvamento Marítimo, and the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Castellón have carried out an extensive search operation involving land, water, and air resources, combing the coast from Burriana to the breakwater where the disappearance occurred.
The disappearance has caused deep shock in Almassora, where family, friends, and neighbors have closely followed the search's progress from the outset.
This tragic outcome confirms the minor as the third drowning victim of the year in the province of Castellón, and the second this week. Last Saturday, a 27-year-old man drowned early in the morning at Peñíscola beach.
