The incident occurred around 02:20 AM at kilometer 981 of the highway, heading towards Castellón de la Plana. Several vehicles were involved in the accident, according to official sources. The causes of the events are still unknown.
Two SAMU units, two Basic Vital Assistance units, and one Advanced Nursing Vital Assistance unit were mobilized to the scene. Medical services confirmed the deaths of four people, three men and one woman, at the accident site. Six other men were injured, according to the CICU.
Healthcare teams treated the six injured individuals at the scene. Three had multiple traumas, and the other three sustained injuries of varying severity. After initial assessment, four injured individuals were transferred to the General Hospital of Castellón and two to the Hospital de la Plana.
