The Guardia Civil in Castellón has dismantled two major indoor marijuana cultivation sites in Benicarló and Torreblanca, an operation resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of over 1,300 cannabis plants and a loaded handgun.

The Castellón Guardia Civil Command has delivered a double blow to drug trafficking in the province. As part of two investigations into drug trafficking and electricity fraud, officers dismantled two sophisticated indoor marijuana production centers and removed a firearm from circulation.
The first operation took place on May 20th in an industrial warehouse in Benicarló. Investigators detected anomalies in electricity consumption and suspicious ventilation systems. With a judicial order, officers searched the warehouse and found 494 cannabis sativa plants, along with surveillance cameras and high-end mobile terminals. For these actions, a 44-year-old man responsible for the plantation's maintenance was arrested.
Five days later, on May 25th, the Guardia Civil executed the second operation at a villa in Torreblanca. The property housed a large-capacity infrastructure designed for continuous year-round drug production. During this search, 867 marijuana plants in an advanced flowering stage were seized.
The most concerning discovery in Torreblanca was a short firearm with a loaded magazine, hidden among the cultivation systems. Officers arrested the plantation's custodian, a 29-year-old man, who is accused of crimes against public health, electricity fraud, and illegal possession of weapons. The judicial authority has already ordered his provisional imprisonment.
