The beach libraries in Almassora, located in Pla de la Torre and Benafelí, have opened for the summer, offering a space for reading and cultural leisure with activities for everyone.

The Almassora City Council has reopened its beach libraries this week. These two cultural spaces, situated in Pla de la Torre (Carabineros) and Benafelí, within El Pitillo park, will serve as a meeting point for reading, learning, and family leisure by the sea throughout the summer.
The mayoress of Almassora, María Tormo, accompanied by the Councillor for Culture, Vicente Blay Casino, and the Councillor for Beaches and Tourism, Silvana Rovira, visited the facilities to check on the services. The libraries will be open from Monday to Friday, with morning hours (11:00 AM to 1:30 PM) and afternoon hours (5:00 PM to 8:00 PM).
These spaces provide a pleasant and cooler environment for reading during the summer months, featuring a selection of books for all ages and a complementary program of cultural and educational activities. "We want our beaches to also be spaces for culture, learning, and community", stated the mayoress.
Over the coming weeks, the libraries will host various reading animation activities, including storytelling sessions for children and educational workshops linked to the summer program.
Among the planned events is the children's workshop "Preparing for the Eclipse", scheduled for July 23rd at the Pla de la Torre library, aimed at introducing youngsters to the astronomical phenomenon observable on August 12th. Additionally, the Benafelí library will host the informative talk "Enjoy the Eclipse" on August 5th, open to the public, offering recommendations for safely observing the solar eclipse.
