The municipality of Benicàssim has begun installing solar road studs at 12 pedestrian crossings on Santo Tomás street to enhance road safety, especially at night and during periods of low visibility.
This initiative, driven by the Mobility department, aims to reinforce horizontal signage at high-traffic points. The autonomous devices increase pedestrian protection and promote safer circulation on one of the main urban arteries.
The project will also include the pedestrian crossing in front of the municipal library, where the remaining two units will be installed. The City Council had previously verified the effectiveness of this system at the pedestrian crossing on La Parreta Avenue, opposite the Oasis residential complex, where solar road studs significantly improved visibility both day and night.
For her part, the Mobility councilor noted that solar road studs are an effective tool to enhance visibility at critical points, especially during nighttime hours or on days with low visibility. The Mobility department continues to work on a comprehensive plan that combines technology, urban maintenance, and awareness to move towards a safer, more orderly, and accessible city model for everyone.
This installation is part of municipal actions aimed at advancing towards safer, more accessible, and sustainable mobility, with solutions that combine energy efficiency, urban improvement, and the protection of the most vulnerable road users.
