The Benicàssim City Council has awarded the design for the final section of the CV-149 road, a strategic connection aimed at alleviating traffic on the N-340 and Gran Avenida Jaume I.

The project's drafting, valued at 157,200 euros, has been assigned to the company Comaypa S.A., which submitted the best offer among the three proposals received. This award is a fundamental step to unlock the highway's connection with the urban center, an action expected to significantly improve mobility in the municipality.
The contract with Comaypa S.A. was finalized for an amount of 129,917.36 euros plus VAT, representing a reduction of approximately 43,000 euros from the base bidding budget. The awarded company stood out for its technical and economic proposal, achieving the highest score in the tender.
The project will define the pending section along Avenida del Ferrocarril, thus completing the connection initiated years ago with the extension of the CV-149 to the Mohino Avenue roundabout, executed in 2021. This new road, which will be provisional until the definitive development of the grand boulevard planned in the General Plan, will incorporate a more integrated urban configuration.
Among the elements to be included in the design are a bike lane, accessible sidewalks, tree planting, urban furniture, on-street parking, landscaped median, lighting, and space for public transport. The objective is to promote more sustainable mobility compatible with the residential growth of the area.
The project will be divided into two phases. The first will cover the area between Mohino Avenue and the future Frares Avenue roundabout, including the adaptation of existing sections and the construction of the new roundabout. The second phase will extend the action from Frares to the end of Avenida del Ferrocarril, next to the Farja ravine, with a connection to Leopoldo Querol Street.
One of the most complex points will be the intervention on the Sigalero ravine, where the construction of a new bridge is planned. Additionally, the dismantling of the current bridge between Avenida del Ferrocarril and Avenida Gimeno Tomás, new roundabouts, and the reorganization of accesses are included. The contract also covers the processing of authorizations with bodies such as the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation and Highways, given the technical complexity of the route.
