The Benicàssim City Council has approved the total cancellation of the loan for the 2024-2027 Investment Plan, leaving municipal debt at zero euros. The decision was made in the plenary session with votes from PP and Vox.

The Benicàssim municipal plenary session has greenlit the complete amortization of the loan requested for the 2024-2027 Investment Plan. This measure, which brings the municipal debt to zero, was approved with favorable votes from the Partido Popular and Vox, a dissenting vote from Compromís and the non-attached councilor, and an abstention from the PSPV-PSOE.
The loan was linked to an Investment Plan endowed with 9,011,051 euros, aimed at improving infrastructure, public spaces, sports facilities, and municipal services. Despite the debt cancellation, the main planned projects continue their course.
Among the highlighted actions are the renovation of the CV-149, awarded in March, and the future construction of the new Local Police station in the El Clot area, with the project currently in the drafting phase. The multifunctional building on Bodolz street, awarded in March, is also progressing and is conceived as a new space for cultural and social activities.
The council plans to soon initiate a new urban asphalt plan to improve roads and enhance road safety. In terms of energy efficiency, the lighting renovation of the Pilar Coloma promenade has already been completed. Additionally, maintenance work has been carried out on the beaches following the Konrad storm.
Regarding hydraulic infrastructure, works continue to improve drainage in the southern area and reduce flood risk. The intervention on Vicent Fuentes i Ramón street has concluded, and the works around CEIP Palmerar school have recently been put out to tender. A project for the construction of protective embankments in Quadro Santiago is also available.
Sports investments include the installation of a calisthenics and parkour park in the Juan XXIII neighborhood, new table tennis tables in País Valencià square, the renovation of the skatepark on Colombia street, and the improvement of sports equipment. Ten kilometers of sports routes have been signposted, and the new changing rooms at the La Carrerasa outdoor sports center are in the final phase. In parallel, improvements are being made to parks and gardens.
