The Almassora City Council is promoting the third edition of the Conecta project, an initiative aimed at preventing school absenteeism and supporting the most vulnerable ESO students in local high schools.

This program, carried out at IES Vila-roja and IES Álvaro Falomir, is extending its duration and will now run from Monday to Friday, one more day than in previous editions, to offer greater support.
The Councilor for Social Welfare and the Councilor for Education have met with the directors of the educational centers and the program managers to define the roadmap for this new edition. The main objective is to restore student motivation and improve their involvement so they can take advantage of the educational resources available to them.

"The project demonstrates that early and coordinated intervention between institutions can be effective in re-engaging students and preventing school failure."

The program is directed by a psychologist from the National Association of Dual Pathology. Evaluations from previous editions show an improvement in attitudes towards learning and in students' connection with the school environment, as well as a strengthening of participants' social and emotional skills.
This initiative stems from a prior diagnosis that identified the need to offer complementary resources to educational centers to motivate students, prevent early dropout, and foster a positive view of school as a space for personal growth. With this third edition, Almassora seeks to consolidate an educational and social support tool aimed at improving student involvement and reducing the risk of absenteeism in key stages of secondary education.
