The city of Almassora will experience one of the most cherished events of the patron saint festivities in honor of Santa Quitèria this Wednesday with the celebration of the traditional Senior Citizens' Day. Approximately 1,200 registered participants are expected. The event will take place in Pere Cornell square, where doors will open for the distribution of snacks starting at 6:15 PM.
The festival queen, Martina Caparrós, accompanied by her court of honor and members of the municipal corporation, led by the mayor, María Tormo, will participate in this gathering dedicated to the municipality's seniors. The afternoon will be enlivened by copla performances from Arantxa Pons and Mariló, creating a festive atmosphere.
The mayor highlighted that the Santa Quitèria program, which includes nearly 150 events, "is designed for all audiences, with activities aimed at residents of all ages." Furthermore, Tormo noted that Senior Citizens' Day "is one of the most beloved and participatory events of the patron saint festivities."
The councilwoman also reaffirmed the City Council's commitment "to continue promoting initiatives aimed at the elderly, recognizing all that they have contributed to Almassora throughout their lives."
In other news, Wednesday's bullfighting poster will feature a bull from the Sergio Centelles ranch, sponsored by several local groups. Following this, an animal from Arcadio Albarrán, sponsored by the El Comboi group, will be presented.
