This operation is part of the routine inspections carried out by this specialized unit in public-facing businesses, aimed at verifying compliance with current regulations regarding consumer and product safety.
During the inspection, agents detected several bags of toys containing various dolls being sold without meeting the required legal standards. Specifically, the products lacked labeling in Spanish, essential safety information, and did not display identifying data for the manufacturer, importer, or distributor, all of which are mandatory for their commercialization.
Given these facts, a complaint report was filed for an alleged infringement of Royal Decree 1205/2011, of August 26, concerning toy safety. Furthermore, the agents agreed to immobilize and seal the intervened articles, which remained under the custody of the establishment's manager and at the disposal of the Territorial Service of Commerce, Crafts, and Consumption.
The total value of the products removed from sale amounts to 828.90 euros.
The Civil Guard emphasizes the importance of ensuring that products intended for the public, especially those aimed at minors, comply with all safety and labeling guarantees, in order to protect consumers and prevent possible risks derived from their use.
