The operation, carried out by the Fiscal and Border Patrol (PAFIF) of Oropesa del Mar, is part of routine inspections conducted in public establishments. These inspections aim to verify compliance with current regulations regarding consumer and product safety.
During the inspection, agents found several bags of toys with various dolls being sold without meeting the required legal standards. Specifically, the products lacked labeling in Spanish and did not include essential safety information, which is mandatory for their sale.
Furthermore, the toys also failed to display identifying data for the manufacturer, importer, or distributor, elements that are crucial for their legal commercialization. Given these irregularities, agents issued a complaint report for a presumed infringement of Royal Decree 1205/2011, of August 26, which regulates toy safety.
As a result of the operation, the intervened articles were immobilized and sealed, remaining under the custody of the establishment's manager and at the disposal of the competent service. The total value of the products removed from sale amounts to 828.90 euros.
The Civil Guard has reiterated the importance of products intended for the public, especially those aimed at minors, complying with all safety and labeling guarantees to prevent potential risks arising from their use.
