A coordinated operation between the Guardia Civil and the Mossos d'Esquadra has culminated in the dismantling of a criminal group dedicated to forced robberies in jewelry stores using the ram-raid method, resulting in six arrests and four provisional prison admissions.

The investigation has revealed that the criminal activity of this organization has generated an estimated economic impact of one million euros. This figure includes the value of the stolen jewelry, the vehicles used in the assaults, and the material damages caused to the affected establishments.
The group is responsible for 27 crimes perpetrated between November 2025 and March 2026 in various locations. Among the affected places are Benicàssim, Sonseca, Andorra (Teruel), La Sénia, Flix, Villarejo de Salvanés, and Campohermoso-Níjar. The detainees, aged between 27 and 60 years, face charges for belonging to a criminal group, aggravated robbery, theft, document forgery, and receiving stolen goods.
According to the Guardia Civil, the organization operated in a structured manner, with a clear division of roles among its members. They carried out prior surveillance tasks to select targets before committing the robberies. For the assaults, they used high-powered vehicles, often stolen or with manipulated license plates, with which they violently accessed the establishments. Once inside, they stole high-value jewelry and watches in a matter of minutes, while other members facilitated their escape.
The inquiries have determined that the stolen items were sold immediately at a pawn shop, which significantly hindered their recovery by the authorities. As part of the final phase of the operation, five home searches and one at a gold and jewelry pawn shop were carried out in the provinces of Castellón, Madrid, and Toledo, where various effects related to the criminal acts were seized.
The operation was developed by units of the Guardia Civil from Castellón, Madrid, Toledo, and Teruel, in collaboration with the investigation unit of Terres de l'Ebre from the Mossos d'Esquadra.
