The L'Alfàs del Pi City Council has presented its first Innovation Plan, a strategic document that places innovation at the center of the municipal model and will set the roadmap for addressing current and future challenges.
This plan, valid for four years, seeks a broad conception of innovation, understood not only as the incorporation of technology but also as a tool to transform public management, improve municipal services, and generate new opportunities for citizens. In this context, the ‘L’Alfàs Innova’ project is born, conceived as the backbone of various actions.
“
"This plan represents a decisive step in defining the municipal model we want, where innovation is not an end in itself, but a tool at the service of people, to improve their quality of life and offer better public services."
The document proposes a more resilient and connected development model, capable of responding to social, economic, and environmental challenges. Furthermore, it strengthens L'Alfàs del Pi's capacity to generate alliances, attract knowledge, and secure funding. Among the planned initiatives is the celebration, on November 16, of the Women, Innovation and Science Congress of the Innpulso Network, a benchmark event that will place the municipality on the map of debate on innovation, knowledge, and equality. L'Alfàs del Pi has been part of the Innpulso Network since 2016.
“
"This plan marks a before and after in the City Council's way of working, setting objectives and establishing a roadmap that incorporates innovation as a transversal element in all municipal areas."
The Councillor for Innovation and Institutional Relations added that the plan is based on three pillars: social, environmental, and economic. The main lines of action include the digitalization and modernization of administration, sustainability, training, resource attraction, and strengthening collaboration with universities, companies, and knowledge networks.
The council is working with the University of Alicante on the launch of an Observatory of Education and Artificial Intelligence. It also seeks to transform L'Alfàs del Pi into a Laboratory City, fostering collaboration with specialized agents. The document advocates an open innovation model, based on cooperation and knowledge exchange, as well as promoting training and reducing the digital divide. The City Council will maintain an active line of external funding search to develop strategic projects and accelerate their execution.
