Between April 2 and April 5, the sports facilities in La Nucía buzzed with the energy of the Next Star Cup. This event brought together more than 1,200 promising young footballers from countries such as Italy, Mexico, Singapore, the Netherlands, England, and Spain, establishing itself as a key fixture in the sports calendar.
The tournament organizers highlighted the significant economic impact generated, estimated at nearly one million euros, with approximately 6,000 overnight stays. This influx of participants and their companions boosted sports tourism in La Nucía and its surroundings during the four intense days of competition, coinciding with Easter Week.
Regarding the sporting results, titles were distributed among major clubs such as Elche CF, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club, and Club América. CF La Nucía delivered a notable performance, securing two runner-up positions, which confirms the strong development of its youth academy.
The stands saw a large attendance, with the presence of renowned national and international academies, including Real Sociedad, Italy's Como 1907, and Ajax Amsterdam. Club América was crowned champion in the U-14 category, while FC Barcelona won in pre-benjamins and Elche CF in benjamins.
