La Nucía's Next Star Cup Attracts 74 International Teams and Generates One Million Euros

The youth football tournament gathered over 1,200 young players from six countries during Easter Week.

Easter Week at La Nucía Ciudad del Deporte hosted the Next Star Cup, an international youth football tournament that welcomed 74 teams from six countries, with over 1,200 young participants and an economic impact of one million euros.

Between April 2 and April 5, the sports facilities in La Nucía buzzed with the energy of the Next Star Cup. This event brought together more than 1,200 promising young footballers from countries such as Italy, Mexico, Singapore, the Netherlands, England, and Spain, establishing itself as a key fixture in the sports calendar.
The tournament organizers highlighted the significant economic impact generated, estimated at nearly one million euros, with approximately 6,000 overnight stays. This influx of participants and their companions boosted sports tourism in La Nucía and its surroundings during the four intense days of competition, coinciding with Easter Week.
Regarding the sporting results, titles were distributed among major clubs such as Elche CF, FC Barcelona, Athletic Club, and Club América. CF La Nucía delivered a notable performance, securing two runner-up positions, which confirms the strong development of its youth academy.
The stands saw a large attendance, with the presence of renowned national and international academies, including Real Sociedad, Italy's Como 1907, and Ajax Amsterdam. Club América was crowned champion in the U-14 category, while FC Barcelona won in pre-benjamins and Elche CF in benjamins. Other champions included CD Castellón (alevines), Real Murcia (second-year infants), Athletic Club (first-year infants), and RSD Alcalá (second-year cadets).
