RIC Energy has announced its withdrawal from the procedure for installing the photovoltaic plant, named Hisopo Nucía 4. This decision comes after the Ministry of Transport denied authorization for works in a section affected by the AP-7 highway.
Hisopo Power SL, linked to RIC Energy, submitted the application to the Generalitat Valenciana in June 2023. The project sought prior administrative, construction, and environmental impact assessment authorizations for an operation planned in the municipality of La Nucía. The plant envisioned a nominal power of 4,890 kW, connected to the distribution network covering La Nucía, Altea, and l'Alfàs del Pi.
The project's viability depended on authorization from the General Directorate of Roads of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, due to the 20 kV evacuation line running parallel to the Mediterranean Highway (AP-7). The negative response to this authorization has led the company to deem the project "unviable".
The impossibility of carrying out these works makes the project unviable, as they consider it impossible to modify the route of the evacuation line that runs between the battery installation and the connection point to the distribution network.
For this reason, the company initiated procedures to resolve the file, waive the access and connection point, and recover the economic guarantee deposited. The Territorial Service of Industry, Energy and Mines has declared the withdrawal at the company's request, as stated in the resolution of March 23.
