The Information and Coordination Center for Emergencies (CICU) reported that the injured include seven men aged between 23 and 60, and two women aged 49 and 61, who primarily suffered contusions and cervical sprains.

The CICU dispatched a SAMU unit, two SVB units, and a conventional ambulance to the scene. Seven of the injured were transported to the Hospital de la Marina Baixa in La Vila Joiosa and the IMED clinic in Benidorm. The other two individuals made their own way to a healthcare facility.

According to the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Alicante, the initial collision between two vehicles caused a fire in one of the cars, which ended up in the middle of the lane. The incident also involved two other cars.
