The central day of Book Day will take place on Thursday, April 23. At 11:45 AM, the Casa de Cultura will host the presentation of the rules for the seventh edition of the Micro-story Contest, which this year will focus on cultural diversity. In the afternoon, at 6:00 PM, the children's library will offer a storytelling session by the company Debatabat, which will perform El conte del Trobador i el teuladí, a show combining narration, puppets, and live music, with free admission.
The day will conclude at 7:45 PM at the Casa de Cultura with a Poetic Reading organized by the Association of Uruguayans and Friends of the Costa Blanca, under the motto “where poetry is read, heard, and discussed,” with the aim of creating an open space for meeting and participation around words.
Activities will continue on Friday, April 24, with the start of the reading animation campaign in the municipality's educational centers, which will run until May 11 and is expected to involve around 1,500 students. The program includes proposals adapted to each educational level, such as the show El conte del llop i els ànecs by the company Debatabat for early childhood students; storytelling sessions with Alberto Celdrán and Fábrica de Paraules for first and second grade Primary; performances by Vadecuentos for third and fourth grade; and theatrical performances in English by La Tourné Teatro for fifth and sixth grade Primary and secondary students, with the plays Transilvania and Murder on the Nile.
That same Friday, at 6:00 PM, the children's library will host a workshop titled Books, Art, Mindfulness & Creativity, aimed at children aged 5 to 12 and taught by a professional, with the aim of fostering a love for reading in an inclusive and respectful environment.
The program will be completed on Tuesday, April 28, with the presentation of the book Lupo y el naranlinero, by a local author, at 6:00 PM in the children's library, with free admission. In addition, until April 30, the pictorial exhibition by the CreArte Albir Association can be visited at the Vicent Andrés Estellés Municipal Library.

The Councillor for Culture, Manuel Casado, highlighted the importance of this program as a tool for cultural and educational revitalization. He also emphasized the participatory nature of the activities, stating that they want Book Day to be an opportunity to generate reading habits and create meeting spaces around culture and words. Casado also valued the involvement of the associative and educational fabric of the municipality in organizing these initiatives, stressing that collaboration between entities is fundamental to continue promoting interest in reading and consolidating a quality program.
