The event, promoted by the Benidorm City Council, aimed to showcase the year-round work in sustainability and waste management, highlighting the joint efforts of the administration, concessionaires, and collaborating companies in reducing, reusing, and recycling. The mayor, Toni Pérez, accompanied by several council members, visited the information stands.
Entities such as Veolia, FCC, Ecovidrio, Actúa, Consorci Mare, and the Mirada Circular project (promoted by Ecoembes and the Generalitat Valenciana) participated with informational booths, explaining their circular economy projects. Environmental educators offered practical demonstrations, such as correct water cycle habits by Veolia.
Consorci Mare presented an ecomobile and educational activities, distributing promotional materials like reusable bags. Meanwhile, Actúa, the Parks and Gardens concessionaire, organized the activity “From waste to resource: we shred, we plant, and we care,” focused on sustainable management of plant waste.
The program concluded with the start of the Green Week and the II Environmental Volunteering Day Biobserva at the EDAR (Wastewater Treatment Plant), which included bird watching, environmental renaturalization, and biodiversity conservation activities, as well as a live radio broadcast.
