The Civil Guard has arrested one of the most wanted fugitives from the United Kingdom in the Marina Baixa region, as part of an operation against organized crime carried out in Benidorm and la Nucia.

The police action, which resulted in the arrest of four people in total, focused on a network dedicated to drug trafficking and document forgery. The investigation began in November 2025, when the manager of a parcel delivery shop in Benidorm alerted authorities to a suitcase containing sixteen kilograms of hashish destined for the UK.
Initial inquiries allowed agents to identify the woman who made the shipment using false documentation, as well as the collaborators who facilitated the transport of the goods. During the process, investigators confirmed that one of the suspects had an active international arrest warrant, issued in late 2025 by United Kingdom authorities.
During searches conducted in both municipalities, agents seized various quantities of narcotics, 4,000 euros in cash, forged documents, and two vehicles. The detainees will be brought before the courts, while the main suspect, aged 49, will be transferred to the Spanish National Court to continue with the procedures related to his international extradition.
