A climber was injured this Sunday after suffering a fall while ascending the Julia route of Puig Campana, in the municipality of Finestrat, as reported by the Provincial Fire Consortium.

The Provincial Fire Consortium of the Alicante Provincial Council received the alert for the incident yesterday at 13:37 hours, and the intervention concluded at 14:58. The accident occurred at the height of the third pitch of the route, when the woman fell and hit her feet, sustaining injuries to both ankles.
Her climbing partners managed to lower her to the second belay station, where they awaited the rescue teams. The Alpha 01 helicopter, with the Special Rescue Group of the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium, was dispatched to the scene.
The rescue operation proved complex due to the need to set up a long crane, navigate around trees, and the presence of other climbers in the area. Finally, the injured person was hoisted into the helicopter and transferred to the Finestrat helipad, where she was handed over to medical services for treatment.
