The Callosa d'en Sarrià Town Council has announced an investment of nearly 200,000 euros for the second phase of restoration of Fort de Bèrnia, one of the municipality's most emblematic heritage sites.

This new action will allow progress in the recovery of this historic fortress, following the first intervention carried out in 2022. The total planned investment includes a regional grant of 150,000 euros for the conservation of historical heritage, supplemented by municipal funding.

"The first restoration process we initiated in 2022 at Fort de Bèrnia was extraordinarily well received by the residents, who were very proud to see part of our historical heritage being recovered."

During the first phase of intervention, cleaning, clearing, and access adaptation works were carried out in an area of great technical complexity. These actions also brought to light the original entrance portico of the fortress, a discovery of great historical value that has been protected pending this new restoration stage.
The town council is already working on the tender for the project with the aim that the works can begin in the coming months. The Generalitat Valenciana has allocated a total of 9.4 million euros to 77 municipalities and minor local entities in the Valencian Community for conservation, restoration, and rehabilitation actions of real estate of historical, artistic, or local interest.
With this new investment, the Callosa d'en Sarrià Town Council reaffirms its commitment to the recovery and enhancement of its historical heritage as a key element of cultural identity, tourist revitalization, and local development.
