The renovation project for the Ausiàs March Public Infant and Primary School in Benidorm is being expanded with an additional investment of almost 600,000 euros, aiming to improve the educational center's energy efficiency and climatic comfort.

The modification of the initial project, now totaling 2,622,866.39 euros, includes the installation of a hot-cold air conditioning system in all classrooms and common areas. Additionally, all interior lighting will be renewed with LED lights, and solar panels will be installed on the roof, as reported by the Benidorm City Council.
These improvements are added to the already planned actions, such as structural reinforcement; facade insulation and metal carpentry; kitchen renovation and expansion of the dining area; and accessibility adaptation with ramps, elevators, and accessible toilets.

"All these improvements have been incorporated into the project, addressing the requests and priorities formulated by the Ausiàs March educational community, with the common goal that this renovation not only solves deficiencies that the building has had for years, but also provides it with modern, more efficient and sustainable facilities and services, which improve the daily life of teachers and students."

The local government will present the proposal for modifying the delegation of powers in educational infrastructure to the next plenary session, after it was favorably approved in informative commissions. Once approved by the plenary and with the consent of the Ministry of Education, the City Council will be able to tender the works, which are expected to begin in September and have a twelve-month execution period.
The comprehensive renovation will affect practically all dependencies and spaces of the building, both in the Infant Education block and in the Primary area. In the Primary building, the entire floor slab will be reinforced to solve detected deficiencies, a thermal insulation system will be installed on the facade, and the roof will be repaired and waterproofed. All exterior carpentry will also be renewed in both school buildings.
Regarding universal accessibility, the school will have an accessible elevator in each building, ensuring vertical communication without barriers. In addition, ground floor toilets will be adapted, and ramps will be enabled according to current regulations. Other actions include the renovation of electrical and telecommunications installations, the improvement of outdoor sports courts, the construction of a connecting canopy between buildings, and the renovation of the dining room and kitchen. The former caretaker's house will be converted into a multi-purpose room.
