The closure, affecting a stretch of approximately 150 meters, is due to the construction of the new wastewater collector for the Palau d'Esports. These works primarily involve the placement of the new infrastructure, which will replace the current pumping station.
The replacement of the pumping station with a new collector aims to reduce energy consumption, maintenance costs, and the risk of spills caused by pumping failures, thereby improving wastewater management in the area.
