The Casa de Cultura de Ondara hosted the Encounter with First Readers, an emotional activity that, with music and puppets, captivated young children and their families, promoting reading.

This event, organized by the Department of Culture of Ondara City Council, is part of the Book Month activities and aims to welcome six-year-old children to the world of reading.
The show, titled Enchanted Readings. A Journey of Puppets and Songs, was led by artist Xavi Requena. The proposal combined live music, puppets, visual games, and constant interaction with the child audience, creating a playful and participatory atmosphere that delighted both children and adults.
Throughout the performance, participants experienced a journey full of fantasy and creativity, where reading was presented as a source of fun and imagination. The set design, musical instruments, and scenic elements reinforced the main message of the activity: fostering a love for books from an early age.
One of the most special moments of the afternoon was the delivery of a book to each participating child, carried out by the Culture Councilor, in a symbolic gesture of welcome to the world of reading. This personalized act generated great anticipation and brought an emotional and meaningful activity to a close.
The Department of Culture has emphasized the importance of keeping these types of encounters alive, as they combine education, culture, and shared family experiences, and have become an essential event within April's cultural program.
