The council has emphasized that citizen cooperation is essential to prevent incidents. To this end, the Department of Citizen Security has published a series of recommendations for both residents and visitors, insisting on the need to follow the instructions of emergency personnel at all times.
Regarding the bonfire jump, the use of cotton clothing and closed footwear is recommended, avoiding accessories that could get caught. During the event, it is essential to ensure the landing area is clear and to watch over minors. Afterwards, it is advised to check clothing for any ignition sources and to go to medical points if any injury occurs.
For the Correfoc, measures are stricter: long-sleeved cotton clothing and long trousers are required, in addition to protecting the head and neck. The use of synthetic garments is prohibited due to their flammability, and it is noted that if clothing catches fire, one should roll on the ground instead of running.
The security operation will include the Xàbia Local Police, the Civil Guard, the Alicante Provincial Consortium Firefighters, Civil Protection, Red Cross, and volunteers from Balcón al Mar and Amigos Europeos.
