The Generalitat has authorized the contracting of the new València-Benidorm (CV-301) bus concession, which will improve connections from the Marina Alta region to the capital and Manises airport, after eight years of delays.

The process of launching new public transport lines is often complex, and this one has been particularly protracted. The Consell authorized last Friday the contracting of the future València-Benidorm (CV-301) bus concession. This concession will significantly improve communications between the autonomous capital and Manises airport with the Marina Alta region, specifically for Dénia, Xàbia, Calp, Benissa, and Ondara.
The matter has been pending for too long for a region with poor transport links, where the bus is currently the only direct alternative to València without a private vehicle. The Generalitat, then under the Botànic Government, first put this line out for public information in 2018. Four years later, in April 2022, it was finally put out to tender for 28.4 million euros, but an appeal halted the award, forcing the process to restart.
Now, in May 2026, the current Generalitat is resuming the initiative. The new contract establishes a ten-year duration for the road passenger transport services concession. It is hoped that by then there will be a tram or train connection between Dénia and Gandia.
The new concession includes four lines and a minimum of twelve buses. Line one will directly connect Benidorm and València. Line two will link Benidorm, Benissa, Xàbia, Dénia, València, and Manises airport. Line three, departing from Dénia, will not be a direct service to València, as it will include intermediate stops in Ondara and Gandia before reaching València and the airport. This means that only Benidorm will have a direct connection to the capital.
Finally, line four, also starting from Benidorm, will pass through Altea, Calp, Benissa, Xàbia, Dénia, Ondara, Oliva, Bellreguard, Gandia, and València, using the N-332 instead of the AP-7.
