The Ministry of Health has confirmed the incorporation of 143 new healthcare professionals for the Dénia Health Department, thereby strengthening care in the Marina Alta region. This measure is part of the area's designation as "hard-to-fill" and includes the renewal of technological equipment.

The Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez, announced today the incorporation of 143 healthcare professionals for the Dénia Health Department, a measure that follows the designation of the area as "hard-to-fill" to attract more staff. This call for applications, conducted through a merit-based competition, was already announced by the ministry last December and its resolution is now confirmed.
Gómez highlighted that "one of the major goals we set was to solve the problem of staff shortages that existed in the Dénia health department." To facilitate staff recruitment, the La Pedrera hospital has also been designated as a hard-to-fill area.
In addition to staffing, the Ministry has invested over 3.5 million euros in renewing the Diagnostic Imaging service at Dénia Hospital. The investment includes two new CT scanners, an MRI machine, a densitometer, and a digital orthopantomograph. "This investment will represent a qualitative leap in healthcare," the minister stated, "as it expands the range of services, improves diagnostic accuracy, and optimizes response times."
The new MRI machine will improve service accessibility, while the new CT scanners will offer higher resolution images with lower radiation exposure. The densitometer enhances the diagnosis of bone density pathologies, and the digital orthopantomograph expands study possibilities for the oral cavity.
To adapt spaces for the new technology, an additional 800,000 euros have been invested in infrastructure, improving electrical systems, insulation, structural reinforcements, and radiological safety measures. The minister emphasized the investment effort and the professionals' role in implementing the new equipment.
The technological renewal is part of an upgrade plan promoted by the Ministry of Health across all hospitals in the Valencian Community, aiming to modernize healthcare infrastructure and ensure excellent patient care.
Furthermore, the minister visited the new base for the Urgent Medical Aid Service (SAMU) in Dénia. This facility, promoted by the Valencian Community Health Emergency Service (SESCV), spans over 100 square meters across two floors, enhancing operational efficiency and emergency response capabilities.
