The new mayor of Dénia, Rafa Carrió of Compromís, has taken office, calling for "civil friendship" and championing Valencianist governance.

Rafa Carrió, from Compromís, has been sworn in today as the new mayor of Dénia, in a ceremony attended by numerous politicians and prominent figures. Carrió urged for the recovery of "civil friendship" and paid tribute to Sebastià García, the city's last Valencianist mayor.
The new mayor highlighted the strong collaboration between Compromís and PSPV councillors, forming an "amazing team". The handover of power was conducted by Vicent Grimalt, who resigned last Monday after eleven years in charge of the city council. The succession had been agreed upon since the beginning of the legislative term.
The investiture ceremony was attended by key Compromís figures such as Joan Baldoví, Àgueda Micó, Enric Morera, and Gerard Fullana. Valencianist mayors from neighboring towns including Pedreguer, Xaló, El Verger, and els Poblets were also present. Additionally, notable attendees included former socialist deputy Joan Ignasi Pla, now a member of the Consell Jurídic Consultiu de la Comunitat Valenciana, and Baleària's president, Adolfo Utor.
