The socialist spokesperson in the Valencian Corts, José Muñoz, highlighted that Feijóo spoke about many issues during his visit but avoided confirming whether Pérez Llorca is the PP's choice to lead the Generalitat in the next elections. Muñoz emphasized that Feijóo did find time to ratify other leaders like Barcala in Alicante or praise the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, and the president of the Diputación de Valencia, Vicent Mompó, but offered no words of support for Pérez Llorca.
According to the socialist spokesperson, this silence is significant and leaves Pérez Llorca in a position of political weakness, as the national PP leadership appears not to give him the necessary backing. Valencians, he added, have the right to know if Pérez Llorca is truly Feijóo's choice or if the PP remains undecided on who will lead its project in the Valencian Community.
Muñoz also denounced the silence of Carlos Mazón, pointing out that neither Feijóo, nor Mompó, nor Pérez Llorca mentioned the individual who remains a PP member, holds a seat in Les Corts, and was the highest political official of the Generalitat during the dana (heavy rainfall). The PSPV criticizes the attempt to erase Mazón from the political scene, recalling that the victims of the dana demand truth, justice, and reparation.
Furthermore, the socialist spokesperson criticized Feijóo for speaking of decency while the Valencian PP is marked by the management of the dana and the deterioration of public services. He considers it an exercise in political cynicism to talk about decent governance from Valencia after what happened during the dana and with the degradation of essential services like public healthcare and education.
Finally, José Muñoz stated that Feijóo's visit demonstrates that the PP lacks a clear project for the Valencian Community and that even its national leader is unable to provide firm support to the current President of the Generalitat.
