A People's Party deputy and former mayor of Calp was expelled from a session of the Congress commission investigating the DANA, following a heated debate with an Aemet official.

The parliamentarian, currently a councilor in Calp, was involved in an incident during the Congress commission investigating the DANA in Valencia. This contrasts with his discreet presence in the Calp municipal plenary, where his intervention is infrequent.
The expulsion occurred after a 20-minute debate with the head of climatology for Aemet in the Valencian Community, one of the day's speakers. The deputy accused the Aemet official of having "failed" during the catastrophe and of not providing relevant information.

"Was information withheld? Did it not seem relevant to you? 200 people died."

During the session, the deputy directed accusations at the Aemet technician, reproaching him for his "lack of information" about the Poyo ravine and placing responsibility for the catastrophe on the Spanish Government.

"Do not become a spokesperson for 'sanchismo'."

Tension escalated to the point where the commission president had to call the PP spokesperson to order on several occasions. Ultimately, the president decided to expel him from the room, and the other People's Party deputies left the session in protest.
