The new municipal outdoor gym in Calp, inaugurated at the end of March, has welcomed over 2,000 users in its first month of operation, with an average of 80 people daily.

This facility, located next to the Blue Court (Pista Blava), involved an investment of 125,719 euros by the Calp City Council. It is considered one of the few spaces of its kind available throughout Spain, offering an innovative service for outdoor sports practice.
The gym is open from 8 AM to 11 PM and features professional strength training machines with adjustable weights. Equipment includes chest press, lat pulldown, leg press, shoulder press, horizontal row, a three-zone cross training station, and a pull-up station. All equipment is designed for outdoor use, with protective casings and safety systems to prevent entrapment and vandalism.
Furthermore, the machines are connected to a mobile application accessible via a QR code. This app allows users to view demonstrative exercise videos, follow personalized training plans for various goals (fitness, weight loss, general strengthening, active work for seniors), and record their sessions for more efficient planning.
This initiative is part of the Council's commitment to continue improving municipal facilities with new spaces dedicated to free sports practice. In this vein, the City Council has also allocated an investment of 80,000 euros for the creation of a new facility for calisthenics and an OCR circuit, which is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
