The Marina Alta today received confirmation of the Blue Flags granted by Adeac (Association for Environmental Education and the Consumer), with outstanding results for several localities. Xàbia's Arenal beach regains this award after losing it in 2022 due to submarine outfall works and wastewater discharges.
The region adds three new Blue Flags. Calp achieves two new distinctions at once for the beaches of Puerto Blanco and Racó. These are added to the existing ones of La Fossa, Cantal Roig, and Arenal Bol, totaling five Blue Flags that will fly on the Calp coastline this summer.
For its part, Benissa revalidates the flag for Cala del Baladrar and adds that of L'Advocat, which debuts on the list. However, La Fustera beach, one of the most popular in the municipality, has not obtained the distinction on this occasion.
Dénia continues to lead the number of Blue Flags in Marina Alta, with seven awarded beaches: Els Molins, les Bovetes, les Deveses, les Marines, la Marineta Cassiana, la Punta del Raset, and Punta Negra. The latter achieved its first Blue Flag last year. El Poble Nou de Benitatxell maintains its award at Cala del Moraig.
In addition to Arenal, Xàbia also maintains the Blue Flags for Cala de la Granadella and La Grava. In the case of Teulada Moraira, it has not been possible to regain the Blue Flag for L'Ampolla, although they will fly on the beaches of El Portet and les Platgetes.
