The teachers' strike in the Marina Alta remains active after Thursday's meeting between unions and the Department of Education failed to reach a definitive agreement.

The negotiation table held in Valencia ended without the expected consensus. Although the Department has asked unions to submit counter-proposals and agreed to include salary issues in their proposal, the teaching staff considers the measures regarding ratios, staffing, and infrastructure to be insufficient.
Union representatives noted that while a path for dialogue has opened, the lack of specificity in the proposals keeps the conflict alive. For this reason, the mobilizations planned in towns such as Calp and Pedreguer, as well as the demonstration called for this Friday in Valencia, remain scheduled.

A possible agreement is still far from being reached.

The Department has called for a new meeting next Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, teachers continue to apply pressure with the goal of achieving real improvements in working conditions and the quality of the Valencian education system.
