Another fire has affected a home on Quevedo Street in Dénia, generating dense black smoke emanating from the first-floor window of a single-family dwelling. The fire, of electrical origin, started in the exterior cable braiding of the facade, due to the air conditioning compressors.
The incident was particularly striking due to the noises it caused, described as explosions, similar to firecrackers. This situation generated great anticipation among residents and in the street, which is located in the heart of the city.
“"They sounded like firecrackers."
Both Local Police and firefighter units quickly responded to the scene. Firefighters used a crane truck to access the home and had to contend with the explosions and electrical sparks. Iberdrola was notified to cut the electricity and inspect the installation, and the Police closed the street to traffic.
Fortunately, there were no human casualties. At the time of the fire, only animals were in the property, and they are in good health, as the fire did not even affect the interior of the home. This incident once again highlights the controversy surrounding the wiring hanging from facades in the town.
This is not an isolated event, as house fires are recurring with unusual frequency in Dénia. A week ago, two people had to be evacuated after a fire in another house in the old town, and in March, five people were hospitalized due to another incident that completely devastated a home on Pare Pere Street.
