Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium personnel rescued a 57-year-old woman injured on a hiking trail in Montgó, Dénia, suffering a possible ankle fracture.

Personnel from the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium intervened this Sunday in the rescue of a 57-year-old woman who was injured while hiking in the Montgó natural park, specifically on the trail known as Senda Fosca in Dénia.
Emergency services received the accident report at 10:39 AM, being informed that the victim had a possible ankle fracture that prevented her from continuing on her own. Given the terrain conditions, the emergency center activated the mountain rescue protocol, dispatching the provincial corporation's helicopter and members of the Special Rescue Group (GER).
GER specialists located the hiker on the trail and proceeded to secure her extraction by air. After being evacuated from the accident site, the woman was transported by aircraft to the Dénia fire station.
At the fire station facilities, the woman was attended by medical services from the Center for Information and Coordination of Emergencies (CICU) and later transferred to a hospital. According to data provided by the Provincial Firefighters Consortium, the rescue operation was officially concluded at 12:00 PM.
