The storm, which arrived late on Thursday afternoon, primarily affected the coastline of Marina Alta. According to data from Avamet and MeteoXàbia, Xàbia had exceeded 80 mm of rain and Benitatxell 70 mm by 8:30 PM. Moraira also recorded a significant amount, close to 50 mm.
The rainfall was accompanied by thunder and significant electrical activity, especially in Dénia, where over 25 mm was recorded in some areas, and the figure continued to rise as the night progressed. Some of these downpours were torrential, such as the one recorded at the Barranqueres station in Xàbia, where 84 mm fell in just one hour around seven in the evening.
The main incidents were concentrated in Xàbia, with flooding on sensitive roads such as Avenida de la Llibertat in l'Arenal and Carretera del Pla in El Saladar. Despite this, the city council confirmed at 8:42 PM that no major incidents had occurred. In Benitatxell, the Camí Barranco Roig was closed to traffic due to a landslide and water accumulation, as reported by the Local Police of Poble Nou. Dénia also experienced similar accumulations in its most problematic areas, such as Marineta Cassiana.
The Firefighters carried out four operations in Marina Alta, mainly for flooded homes and some trapped cars due to the intensity of the rains.
