Under the slogan “71 years of daily trust with you,” the Dénia Market offers three days of coexistence, gastronomy, and local commerce. The Market Councilor highlighted that the celebration aims to recognize the historical trajectory, the effort of the workers, and the loyalty of customers who support local trade.
During these days, the market will transform into a lively and participatory space, with gastronomic activities, live music, and commercial promotions. Establishments will offer products on sale with the slogan “Prices that bring joy,” strengthening the bond between the market and the community.
The figatell will be one of the main attractions, with special sales at the market's butcher shops, tastings, and gastronomic proposals within the “Cooking with you” sessions. This initiative will bring cooking and market products to the public in a participatory way. The program will begin on Thursday, May 21, with a special “Cooking with you” day, where local media professionals will swap headlines for aprons, under the direction of a renowned chef.
On Friday, May 22, the market will celebrate its anniversary with a day dedicated to sweets and community, featuring the preparation and distribution of 300 servings of cakes and coca María. The market's bakeries and a well-known pastry shop will participate. This action will also have a charitable component, with the collaboration of students from a local educational center in the service and distribution.
The central day will be Saturday, May 23, with the second edition of the Figatell Fest, combining gastronomy, music, and a festive atmosphere throughout the morning. The market's butcher shops will offer figatells at a popular price of 0.50 euros per unit, and several hospitality establishments will collaborate in popular lunches with figatell, with the market inviting guests to a second drink.
On Saturday, the “Cooking with you” activity will also return with the participation of local journalists, guided by a renowned chef. The day will continue with a lucky wheel, raffles through the D-Dénia app, live music with a saxophonist, and a musical group performance. Due to this celebration, the market will extend its usual hours and close its doors at 5 PM.
“"This 71st anniversary aims, above all, to be a way of thanking all the people who are part of the market: customers, merchants, workers, and also those who continue to make the Municipal Market one of the most vibrant and beloved spaces in the city."
