The Dénia Department of Education has launched the 'Coles contra el bullying' campaign, an initiative seeking to combat school bullying through direct and creative messages in the most frequented spaces by students in eight centers across Dénia, la Xara, and Jesús Pobre.

This campaign, presented by the Education councilor, aims to reach children with an accessible and appealing language. Messages will be installed in strategic locations such as bathrooms, hallways, staircases, computer rooms, libraries, and even on the floor in the form of hopscotch.

"Bullying has left the chat."

Among the slogans that can be read in educational centers are: "Don't wash your hands of bullying" in bathroom mirrors, "Only respect circulates in the school hallway" in corridors, "Close the doors to bullying" at entrances, and "Silence please, except against bullying" in libraries. There will also be messages like "Our 'epic battle' would be to end bullying" for play areas and "If you're going to throw 'hate', throw it in the trash can" on waste bins.
A total of eight Primary schools in Dénia, la Xara, and Jesús Pobre have joined this initiative and will soon receive the vinyls. According to extrapolated national data, school bullying could be affecting up to 12% of the 5,600 students enrolled in the locality.
Data on school bullying shows that one in eight students in Spain claims to suffer from it or knows of a case. In the Valencian Community, recorded cases of bullying and cyberbullying increased by 84% in four school years, rising from 610 to 1,125. 89% of Valencian citizens consider school bullying one of the main educational concerns. Victims take between 12 and 13 months to report that they are experiencing bullying.
