Every May 12, since 1993, World Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Day is commemorated. This date coincides with the birth of Florence Nightingale, a nurse who suffered from this illness for 50 years.
The event held at Dénia City Council saw the active participation of the regional association for affected individuals, Afima. During the day, a manifesto was read to highlight the situation of patients.
“"Dénia City Council joins Afima's demands to support those affected and promote research and treatment for fibromyalgia."
As an additional sign of support, the facade of the town hall will be illuminated in purple every night until this Friday, symbolizing the fight against this illness.
