The Calp City Council has initiated the drafting of the project for the reconstruction of the path connecting the Calalga and Bassetes areas, which was severely damaged by the storm recorded in 2023.

The company Kuroba Quatre, awarded this project at a cost of 41,249 euros, will be responsible for analyzing the terrain and proposing the necessary technical solutions. The main objective is to ensure the stability of the slope and the landscape integration of the area, which suffered significant damage.
The work, which began this week, includes both the preparation of the execution project and the facultative direction of the future works. The final section of the path shows considerable deterioration, making a comprehensive intervention essential for its complete recovery.
The complexity of the intervention lies in the path's location, situated by the sea and in an area adjacent to private property. Furthermore, the characteristics of the terrain require a robust design that guarantees resistance against waves and runoff, while minimizing visual impact.
The scope of action is located between the transit easement zone and the demarcation of the public maritime-terrestrial domain. Therefore, the project will require the supervision and authorization of the Provincial Coast Service of Alicante before it can be executed.
The deadline for drafting the project is seven months. In a first phase, data will be collected, and a detailed analysis of the current state of the environment will be carried out. Subsequently, the technical document will be drafted and submitted to the competent administrations for evaluation. If these bodies establish conditions, the company must introduce the necessary modifications until the definitive project is defined, which will also include an estimate of the cost of the works. From this point, the council can initiate the bidding process for the reconstruction's execution.
The project will also study the most suitable construction solutions to reinforce the slope, the materials to be used and their environmental impact, as well as the repair of the path and the implementation of specific measures to curb erosion processes in the area.
