The town of Benissa experienced a massive human chain this Thursday that traveled through the historic center to demand public, quality education in Valencian.

The mobilization, which coincides with the ninth day of the strike that began on May 11, managed to bring together hundreds of people of all ages. Teachers, students, families, and citizens in general joined hands in a gesture of unity to highlight the future of public education.
The event served to reaffirm the demands of the educational community, which seeks to guarantee decent conditions and the presence of the Valencian language in classrooms. The cross-sectional participation filled the streets of the Marina Alta municipality, demonstrating social commitment to the educational system.
Through social media, the organization Benissa per l’Educació Pública shared images of the day, showing how the neighborhood responded to the call to defend a fundamental right they consider key to the collective construction of the future.
