The National Police have dismantled a marijuana plantation in Dénia, leading to the arrest of two men, one of whom was internationally wanted by Lithuania for drug trafficking and illegal arms possession.

The police operation, carried out in the Alicante municipality of Dénia, led to the discovery of an indoor marijuana plantation. The detainees, aged 34 and 56, face charges of drug trafficking, electricity fraud, and belonging to a criminal group, as reported by the National Police.
The investigation began after receiving information about the possible existence of an illegal cultivation in a detached house located in a rural area of Dénia. Officers from the Judicial Police of the local station verified that the property had been rented for three years using a false identity document and showed unusual electricity consumption, characteristic of such illegal operations.
During the search, officers seized 30.70 kilograms of marijuana buds, of which three kilograms were vacuum-packed and hidden in a false ceiling. Additionally, 79 plants in full production were found in an annexed structure. It was also confirmed that the electrical installation was illegally connected to the general grid.
One of the detainees attempted to conceal his identity, but investigators managed to identify him and confirm that he had an active European arrest warrant issued by Lithuania. This individual was placed at the disposal of the Audiencia Nacional, while the other arrested person was brought before the investigating courts of Dénia.
