The region of La Foia de Bunyol – Chiva registered marked stability in its labor market in June 2026. The total number of active job seekers was 2,118, a figure very close to the 2,137 from the same period in 2025, representing a reduction of only 19 people (0.89%).
The gender breakdown was one of the most distinctive features. Female unemployment remained exact with 1,312 women without jobs in both years. The entire absolute decrease was absorbed by male unemployment, which reduced 19 men from the lists, going from 825 to 806. This maintains a significant gender gap, as women represent 61.94% of the total regional unemployment.
From a sectoral perspective, the services sector led the decline with 9 fewer people (1,369 job seekers), followed by construction (from 123 to 114) and agriculture (from 75 to 66). Industry, on the other hand, added 11 unemployed individuals, raising its figures from 359 to 370. By age groups, the improvement was concentrated among those over 44 years old, who reduced 19 job seekers (standing at 1,248), while those under 25 increased by 7 (to 133).
Cheste and Buñol led the reduction in active job seekers. Cheste reduced 30 people from its lists (from 384 to 354), with a notable decrease in the services sector. Buñol decreased by 11 people (from 471 to 460), although female unemployment saw a slight increase.
At the other end, Chiva registered the largest absolute increase, adding 12 active job seekers (from 763 to 775), driven by industry and the group with no prior economic activity. Other municipalities such as Siete Aguas and Dos Aguas also added job seekers, while Alborache and Macastre recorded slight decreases.
