Two Earthquakes Recorded in Vallada and Ontinyent This Morning

The tremors, measuring magnitudes 3 and 1.5, occurred early Monday and were felt in nearby towns.

Two earthquakes, one of magnitude 3 with an epicenter in Vallada and another of magnitude 1.5 in Ontinyent, were recorded early Monday morning, felt in several nearby localities.

The Valencian territory has once again experienced seismic activity. According to the National Geographic Institute, the first tremor, of magnitude 3, was registered at 1:52 AM this Monday with its epicenter in Vallada. Shortly after, at 2:13 AM, a second earthquake of magnitude 1.5 occurred in Ontinyent.
Both earthquakes occurred at shallow depths, three kilometers for the one in Vallada and two kilometers for the one in Ontinyent. The larger magnitude earthquake, the one in Vallada, was perceived by the population, as confirmed by the Valencian Association of Meteorology (Avament).
