This new success for Xàtiva volleyball adds to a great season for the youth academy, which had already achieved two regional runner-up titles in the junior female and junior male categories. With this title, Xàtiva Volleyball has qualified three of its teams for the Spanish Championships, representing the Valencian Community in different venues.
The top-level Regional Cadet Female Final in Initiation to Performance of the Generalitat Valenciana Sports Games was held last weekend at the Xàtiva volleyball pavilion, with an extraordinary public attendance. The four best teams gathered to play six intense matches. Ahora Vóley Xàtiva was crowned in first place, while the silver medal went to CV Elche, bronze to CV Salesianos, and fourth place to CV Mediterráneo de Castellón.
The Xàtiva players secured their national qualification on Saturday, defeating CV Mediterráneo de Castellón 3-0 with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, and 25-10. On Saturday afternoon, they faced CD Salesianos de Elche and won again by 3-1. The decisive championship match, between Xàtiva and Elche, was highly contested and thrilling, going to a fifth set, where Xàtiva won 3-2 with scores of 25-13, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25, and 15-13.
The Xàtiva team, led by coaches Bruno Pisciottano, Quique Mateu Borox, and Rafael Mora, demonstrated great effectiveness in key moments to achieve this important title.
