The city of Xàtiva is preparing for the second edition of the Socarrades Guitar Festival, a cultural event scheduled from April 16 to 18, 2026, offering an expanded program of concerts and educational activities.

Following last year's success, this cultural initiative returns with the support of the Department of Culture of the Xàtiva City Council, and will take place in various emblematic venues across the city.
The musical cycle, the festival's core, will feature three performances exploring different guitar styles and languages. The opening will be on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 PM in the cloister of the Almodí, with British guitarist Jonathan Ross Parkin, a resident of Xàtiva, who will present pieces from his album Alba Nova and classical guitar works.
On Friday, April 17, also at 7:30 PM, the Xàtiva Cultural Center (CCX) will host a concert by jazz guitarist Carlos Medina, who will perform compositions from his work El salt del Cavall alongside genre standards. The closing event will be on Saturday, April 18 at 12:30 PM at the Ermita de Sant Feliu, featuring a performance combining music and literature by guitarist Sara Guerrero and narrator Nuria Miguélez, with their project Platero, ¿y yo?, based on texts by Juan Ramón Jiménez.
In addition to the concerts, the festival strengthens its educational aspect with a didactic concert by the Andantino Guitar Orchestra on Friday, April 17 at 11:00 AM at the Casa de Cultura, aimed at introducing students to the guitar. Workshops and masterclasses are also scheduled, including an improvisation session on Friday afternoon and activities focused on blues guitar and traditional Valencian guitar on Saturday morning.
