Extinguishing efforts have moved to a cooling and monitoring phase for hot spots. According to those in charge of the operations, the structure of the affected warehouse, made of concrete slabs, poses a risk of collapse, requiring extreme caution in the area.
Neighboring businesses, such as a coworking space, have suffered direct damage to their facilities. The collapse of walls and the lack of electricity prevent normal activity in these spaces. Those responsible for the affected businesses have indicated that they still have no information on the time needed to remove the debris from the collapsed structure.
In addition to the impact of the incident, business owners have taken the opportunity to denounce the state of degradation suffered by the Les Meses industrial estate. They explained that the area has faced problems with pavement maintenance and lack of cleaning for years, a situation they believe has been exacerbated by the neglect of the infrastructure.
