The Torrent City Council has opened two new children's play areas to the public in San Pancracio and Maestro Fortea streets, as part of its strategy to improve public spaces for children.

This action represents a new impetus for the creation of accessible, sustainable, and inclusive environments, designed to encourage outdoor play and community coexistence. The new play area on San Pancracio Street stands out for incorporating the REB line, designed under ecodesign and open play criteria. All elements have been manufactured from ReBnew profiles, a 100% recycled and recyclable plastic from selectively collected packaging waste.
This initiative is particularly relevant given that plastic waste can take between 100 and 1,000 years to degrade, so its reuse directly contributes to promoting the circular economy. The San Pancracio park features a wide variety of games adapted for different ages, including a multi-game accessible at ground level for children from 1 year old, and another with three platforms, a suspension bridge, and a climbing wall for children aged 6 and up. It also includes an inclusive nest swing and a structure of nets and ropes for physical activity.
Meanwhile, Maestro Fortea Square incorporates a Terra-themed park, which includes a slide, climbing wall, rope ladder, fireman's pole, roof, and ramp, as well as spring games, a basket swing, and a seesaw. This space is designed to offer a varied and stimulating play experience, promoting both physical development and social interaction.
The project involved an investment of 60,830.98 euros (VAT included) for the park on San Pancracio Street and 58,080.00 euros (VAT included) for the one in Maestro Fortea. Both projects have been financed through a grant from the Ministry of Youth and Childhood for municipalities affected by the DANA, which has allowed the council not only to repair damages but also to significantly improve these spaces.

"With this action, we continue to advance in our commitment to building a more friendly city, where children have safe, modern, and adapted spaces for their needs. Furthermore, we are committed to sustainable materials that contribute to environmental care."

The inauguration of these new play areas is part of an ambitious municipal strategy developed since the beginning of the legislature, with nearly twenty actions completed or nearing completion in different neighborhoods of Torrent. Among the most notable interventions are the renovation of the Parc Central, where a large themed area with a pirate ship has been installed, and the Road Safety Park. Other improvements have been made on Olympic Avenue with the Dragon Park, and on Vedat Avenue with a giant turtle, among others.
