This action will affect streets such as Sant Onofre, Santa Llúcia, Catarroja, and Santísima Trinidad, and aims to advance the recovery of one of the city's historic areas. The intervention is part of a comprehensive urban regeneration project that has been developed in phases over recent years.
The project includes the implementation of single platforms and the elimination of architectural barriers, in addition to the comprehensive renovation of sanitation, potable water, and storm drain networks. Specifically for Sant Onofre street, the works also involve a complete service renovation and new paving adapted to accessibility regulations.
“"The works in Alter are progressing at a good pace and are already a visible reality for residents. We are transforming this historic neighborhood with a comprehensive action that improves its accessibility, renews its infrastructure, and dignifies the urban environment."
This new phase responds to a historical demand from the residents of Alter and will allow for the redistribution of urban space, reduction of vehicular traffic, promotion of pedestrian mobility, and improvement of the neighborhood's environmental quality. The improved drainage will be especially beneficial during periods of intense rainfall.
A council member from the area explained that this is a very comprehensive action that deeply addresses the neighborhood's infrastructure. This phase consolidates the work carried out in previous years and continues the revitalization of Alter, an enclave that the local government wants to make more attractive for residents and visitors.
