The Sedaví City Council has relayed the demands of public school teachers to the Regional Department of Education, following a meeting with Mayor José Francisco Cabanes.

Representatives of teachers from the public schools in Sedaví met with Mayor José Francisco Cabanes and members of the municipal corporation to present various issues affecting the public education system. These demands are part of the protests the teaching collective is holding before the Regional Department.
Key issues raised include classroom overcrowding, a lack of teaching staff and substitutes, insufficient resources for students with special educational needs, deficiencies in school infrastructure and environmental conditions, and excessive bureaucracy hindering teaching work.
Teachers also called for reduced student-teacher ratios, an increase in support staff, improvements to educational infrastructure, the guarantee of a linguistic model ensuring real proficiency in Valencian, the recovery of teaching staff's purchasing power, and a reduction in bureaucratic workload.
The Mayor of Sedaví, José Francisco Cabanes, expressed his understanding and support for the demands, emphasizing that 'public and quality education is one of the priorities of this governing team'.
The City Council also recalled the work done in the municipality's educational centers following the DANA storm to ensure facility safety, as well as the improvements carried out. The council also highlighted municipal services promoted to facilitate family reconciliation, such as morning and afternoon schools and holiday activities.
The council stressed the importance of having three public schools and one institute serving students from the municipality and nearby towns, and noted the upcoming completion of a proper Adult Education School for Sedaví.
Finally, all the demands have been forwarded to the Department of Education.
